Discuss your budget and style – including everything from colors to cake – with your fiancé and both sets of parents.
Choose your bridesmaids & groomsmen.
Choose your ceremony and reception locations. Make reservations.
Hire your caterer, photographer, videographer, florist, musicians, etc.

9 MONTHS BEFORE:
Select your wedding gown and accessories
Register with your fiancé for linens, china, etc.

6 MONTHS BEFORE:
Meet to discuss your ceremony with the person who will perform it (i.e. minister, judge, etc.)
Start putting together your guest list and have your fiancé do his
Meet with your florist and choose flowers
Place your invitation and announcement order; begin addressing them immediately.
Discuss honeymoon plans with your fiancé
Select bridesmaids dresses
Make rehearsal dinner plans with fiancé

4 MONTHS BEFORE:
Compile final guest list
Order wedding rings
Make sure photographer, videographer & musicians or dj have request lists
Have your professional wedding portrait taken
Confirm the date your dress will be delivered
Schedule a doctor’s visit for check up, blood tests, etc.
Schedule appointment with hairstylist
Plan out-of-town guest accommodations

4-6 WEEKS BEFORE:
Mail invitations
Buy your fiancé a wedding gift
Buy bridesmaids’ gifts
Pick up your dress, veil and accessories
Plan a party for your bridesmaids
Send your wedding announcement to the newspapers

1 WEEK BEFORE:
Pack for your honeymoon
Purchase traveler's checks
Give final guest count to caterer
Give and/or attend party for bridesmaids
Confirm final details with your florist, etc.
Arrange to move into your new home
Keep up with thank you notes as you receive gifts
Remind bridesmaids of rehearsal dinner details: present gifts to them that night.
